You picked up a few THC drinks from the dispensary. Now what? Storing them the right way keeps them tasting their best and, just as importantly, keeps them away from anyone who shouldn’t have them.
Here’s how to store THC drinks.
How Long Do THC Drinks Last Unopened?
Check the date on your product, since shelf life varies by brand. Unopened Keef beverages have a shelf life of up to one year. Until you open them, they’re shelf-stable and don’t need to be refrigerated.
Do THC Drinks Need to Be Refrigerated?
Not before they’re opened. Store unopened drinks at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, like a pantry or cabinet. Chill them before serving if you like them cold.
Once a Keef beverage is opened, keep it refrigerated and enjoy it within two weeks for the best taste and freshness.
Tips for Storing THC Drinks Safely
- Keep them in their original packaging. The label shows the THC content and serving information, and it makes clear that the drink contains cannabis.
- Store them out of reach of children and pets. THC drinks can look a lot like regular sodas and juices. A high shelf or a locked cabinet is the safest option.
- Keep them separate from regular drinks. If THC drinks share a fridge with everyday sodas, give them their own clearly labeled spot so no one grabs one by mistake.
- Reseal or refrigerate after opening. If you’re saving part of a drink for later, cover it, refrigerate it and label it.
Can You Travel With THC Drinks?
Cannabis laws vary by state, and cannabis products purchased at a dispensary can’t be taken across state lines. Check your local laws before traveling with THC drinks, and never drive after consuming THC.
